Drago Centro (Los Angeles – Downtown)

StarStarStar

This review is for their Happy Hour only.

Happy Hour is all day, every day. - 5 stars [already]

You'll want to order off the "Small Bites Menu" and you can only order from this menu if you sit at the bar, long table in front of the bar or in the patio/lounge outside.

They offer 4 cocktails for $5  each.  I tried The Sea Breeze, Mai Tai and Aviation.  The other offering they have is a Manhattan.  The 5 bucks they charge per drink seems about right but nothing special from what I had.  - 3 stars

They offer 3 different $5 Draft Beers (Lost Coast 8-Ball Stout, ACME I.P.A & Spaten Lager) and 4 wines at 5-6 dollars.

Their New Cocktail Menu which is not discounted during Happy Hour looks intriguing though.  One drink in particular caught my eye: The Arancia Meccanica.  It's made with Mezcal, Muddled Red Bell Peppers, Cilantro, Agave Nectar, Fresh Lime juice & Smoked Salt.

The Duo of Kobe Sliders were delicious.  I wish they offered a regular sized Hamburger of these lil suckers.  Then again, I'm not so sure I'd pay the [upwards of] 30 dollars they would charge for it - hypothetically speaking anyway. These Sliders cost  $7. - 4 stars

They offer 3 pizzas (cut into 4 slices each) for $4 each.  They have the traditional Margherita, a Sausage and Rapini Pizza and a Ricotta, Spinach and Pancetta Pizza.  I think, dollar for dollar, the pizzas are the best  bet.  - 4.5 stars

I tried the Pork Belly & Artichoke Quiche and didn't really care for it.  If I hadn't read the dish description, I would never had guessed that Pork Belly was in this dish.  - 2 Stars

Three Bruschettas are on the Small Bites Menu.  They have olive, eggplant and anchovies to choose from.  I didn't like mine.  The tomato onion comb on the crostini was way too sweet.  It's more of a Chutney/Marmalade than anything else.  Good thing this was only $3. - 1/2 Star.

Valet parking is available under the restaurant building.  Traveling west on 5th St, make a left immediately after you pass Flower St.  Valet is $5 before 5pm but free validated (for 4 hours, I believe) after 5pm.
