Atlantic Bar & Grill (Los Angeles – Hollywood)



Finally, an experience worthy of my first "less than 1" star review (and as we all know, 1/2 star really means, NO STARS) Congratulations - You really earned it!

Now, I could go on like I usually do and post photos of what I had to eat n drink, I could tell you what I liked or didn't like, go over the decor, parking situation, deals, etc.  But today, I'll let my emails and correspondences to owner, Alex Levin speak for themselves.

Hello! I went for your Reverse Happy Hour last night and I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and service...That said, looking over my receipt, I noticed I didn't receive discounted prices on your appetizers.  My mistake for not noticing at the time, but we were charged $7 a piece for fries and calamari when they should have been 3 and 4 dollars respectively.  Any way I can have the difference credited back to my credit card (if indeed I am correct)?  In the event that I was charged in error and it is not too late to receive reimbursement, the last 4 digits to my credit card are XXXX.  Thank you. Dear Guillermo, So sorry to hear your card was charged the non happy hour rate during the happy hour. I will have this taken care of immediately and your card credited. I believe it may take 24-48h for the credit to appear back in your account, but it will go today. Thank you for your business and we hope to see you again very soon.

Alex,
Perhaps you are mistaken yet again.
Your server, Sarah, told us the food items were discounted and that was the reason we ordered the dishes.
Additionally, not only was as ad placed on Yelp advertising it (it is still there)...
...but a few Yelp reviews (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) have confirmed that people have received this deal.  
A blogger confirms it on her website too (http://www.vixenslahap...).
The tweets posted on the restaurant's account advertise it as well- "reduced price on all bar snacks."  Honestly, a plate of fries for $7??  Are you telling me that a side of fries, goes for more than $7 dollars when it is not Happy Hour?  Seriously, $7 dollars is a discounted price on fries?  You're kidding, right?  
Lastly, having called to ask about your reverse happy hour, the person who answered the phone, stated the exact same thing!  
Your thoughts, sir?

Anyway, I called the restaurant after I sent this email and low and behold, Alex answers the phone.  I inquired about their Reverse Happy Hour - specifically about food.  Not knowing who I was he answered, "Actually, AS OF YESTERDAY, WE NO LONGER OFFER A DISCOUNT ON FOOD FOR REVERSE HAPPY HOUR."  So according to him, too now, I should have received the discounted prices!  No matter.  As soon as I introduced myself and he recognized who I was, it didn't matter that he had just put his foot in his mouth.  Alex waffled and said all he could do was apologize for his server's mistake - when it was no mistake all.

All that being said, the Yelp Advertisement he placed for the discounted snacks during happy Hour, has been taken down...

But the dumbass forgot to take down or edit the price tag along with the photo of his Calamari during Happy Hour (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Wow!  Oh, and if you decide to take that picture and caption down too, Alex - by all means!  I took pictures of my own.  Hahaha  May your restaurant go down in flames.

UPDATE:

The tool decided to cover his tracks yet again.  No matter.  You can still see what I was referring to here (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).  And why update the price anyway?  What's the point??  It's MISLEADING when you no longer offer Calamari!  And how about you take down all your misleading Happy Hour prices and "Free Valet" posts from your websites while you are at it!!

Atlantic Bar & Grill is KAPUT, CLOSED, SHUTTERED, OUT OF BUSINESS.

The WORST Fries I have ever tasted.
