The Brown Derby

I was feeling a bit under the weather and I was thinking of making some tea.  That’s when I thought better of it!  Some, if not most, Mexicans believe a simple cure for the common cold is a shot (or 2 or 3) of tequila,  Supposedly the tequila "burns the virus away."  Whatever.  What is certain, and believable for that matter, is that honey is good for colds – especially when you have a sore throat.  Even more beneficial, citrus.  Citrus = Vitamin C.  To make a long story short, I decided to make an elixir using freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, honey and bourbon too!  I have tequila but I much prefer bourbon, so I went with it.  All I can say is, I’m feeling better already.

Brown Derby

2 ounces Grapefruit Juice (freshly squeezed)
2 ounces Bourbon
1 ounce Honey Syrup

"The Brown Derby."
