I found the first food truck I would not want to revisit.
I tried a couple of tacos and a shrimp quesadilla. First of all, the tacos are way too small for the 2 dollars they charge. Secondly, too much vegetation and very little meat on these tacos. I wasn't enthused with the flavor of the meat itself and sauce either.
This, in my opinion, is not real street/truck food. Street food is soulful and abundant in flavor. The tacos I ate, possessed neither. The same can be said about the shrimp quesadilla. Although the shrimp were plentiful and cooked perfectly, the quesadilla was not toasty but limp. I mean, for all intents and purposes, the quesadillla might as well have been prepared in a microwave.
While I am not the biggest Kogi fan (I feel they over-sauce most of their dishes and the flavor of the sauces dominates their offerings), I'll give Kogi the nod in the Kogi vs Calbi war.
