I grew up eating a lot of "bread." And I say bread in quotation marks because, c'mon - It's really dessert! Why sugar coat it, you know? Be it banana bread or zucchini bread, they're all sweet and more reminiscent of dessert than dinner rolls or sandwich bread. So let's call a spade a spade, shall we? I mean the difference between banana bread, zucchini bread and carrot cake is simply frosting. So if I make carrot cake without frosting, is it just carrot bread? Technically speaking, it might be. I'm no Pastry Chef and right now I'm too lazy to Google what differentiates cake from bread. All I know is, cake is all about the batter/bread to me and the frosting is just icing on the cake (literally). With that being said, I guess zucchini bread and banana bread are really cakes to me since they are far too sweet to be simply classified "bread."
