The Habit Burger Grill (Norwalk)

Just a notch above the larger chains.

I ordered the Double Char and when it came out, I was actually kind of disappointed in the size of it - I was expecting bigger.  No matter.  I hoped the flavor would quickly make me forget about the poor initial impression the burger had on me.  Ehh, maybe not.  The burger wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either.  What I did enjoy was the toasted sesame seed bun and the gooey American cheese (When I ordered, I was given the option of American or Swiss).  The let down was the patty.  Yes it is charbroiled - and that flavor comes through - but even with a duo of patties, the beefiness was missing big time.  Hard to believe, but the beefiness of the patties got lost in the iceberg lettuce.  Wow! I'm not so sure even seasoning could have salvaged those patties.

While on the subject of seasonings, I also ordered the Onion Rings and Fries.  I'm not really a fan or hater of Onion Rings (I thought they were okay) but the fries I had were heavily salted.  I don't know if this is how most of their fries are served, but I could not finish them - and I typically enjoy liberal use of salt, just not in this instance.

One thing I will give these guys and that's customer service.  This is a fast food joint so they don't wait on you.  Yet, when the girls weren't busy behind the counter, they would come around and check on people, offer refills, condiments and even bus their trays. Pretty awesome, I thought.
