Champurrado





'Tis the season for Champurrado.



Featured Ingredients.



Bring to a boil 3 cups Water with 2-3 Cinnamon Sticks & 1 Star Anise.  Once boiling, shut off the heat and allow the ingredients to steep for 15 minutes.  Discard the solids.



Over medium heat, while whisking, slowly incorporate ¼ cup Masa Harina.  Add 2 cups milk, 3-4 ounces of Piloncillo or Brown Sugar & ½ Disk of Mexican Chocolate (Abuelita/Ibarra).


  
Whisk occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer and the solid ingredients have completely melted and the liquid is smooth.


 
Serve immediately.  Cheers!
