The Gumbo Pot @ The Original Farmers Market (Los Angeles - Mid-City West)

Whenever I go to the Farmers Market I have to eat at a few different places.  It's only right with so many options, right?  Right??  Hmmm  Anyway, after a hearty meal at Short Order, it was time for dessert.  I had been wanting to try some of the food from The Gumbo Pot but since we only had room for a bite, I decided to grab an order of their original beignets.  They also make chocolate ones, but I wanted to keep it as simple and traditional as possible.  The beignets were okay but I've had better at Grand Lux Cafe.  I would have enjoyed them more had I ordered some of their chicory coffee or chicory coffee au Lait (scalded milk) to go with it, but that stuff keeps me awake when I should be asleep.  I saw other dishes coming out and they looked appetizing.  I hope to actually have a meal here one day.  One day.

Beyond the glare of the sun are the kettles of Gumbo and Jambalaya.
