Stone's Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale

I'm a huge fan of Stone Brewery.  While not all of their [hoppy] beers are in my wheelhouse, I do appreciate the bold flavor profiles of what they produce.  Old Guardian is no exception.

Here's another Barley Wine I tried and thoroughly enjoyed.

This is big flavored brew meant for sipping.  No, "Chug! Chug! Chug!" nonsense here.  That's just asking for it.  You definitely get the bourbon characteristics in this one.  It is also a bit malty, sweet with some pine and plenty of booziness to mark's it's presence.  The mouth-feel is somewhat creamy with little carbonation - like I said, this one is more of a sipper.
