Waterloo & City (Culver City)

Cocktail Menu.

Basil Dazzle (left) & "Tamarindo (right)."

Bread n Butter.  The bread was decent but damn, I hate rock-hard butter.

Zucchini Blossom Stuffed with Oregon Bay Shrimp Fritters.  Served with Piri Piri Hot Sauce.  I was expecting more out of the sauce.  It was hardly "hot."

Brussels & Bacon, Balsamic Vinegar.  I've never been able to get into Brussels Sprouts.  Now, while these were too charred for my liking, they were still the best I've eaten.  I actually finished these!  Maybe my palate has evolved?  I'm curious so I guess I'll have to try them again soon - just not here.  Oh, and the amount of bacon used in this dish was paltry at best.

Green Chorizo Pizza, Chipotle Tomato, Baby Mozzarella, Egg.  The consensus was that this was our favorite dish of the night.  Still, what's with the scant amount of meat?  The chorizo should have been front and center instead of being an afterthought.  That aside, this was still a solid pie.

White Corn Ravioli, Serrano Ham, Burrata Cheese & Thyme.  I had hopes for this one but the pasta was too thick and undercooked to top it off - 2 minutes from being al dente.

A portion of the dining room.

I really expected more out of Waterloo & City but the inconsistent food turned me off.  I doubt I'll make a return visit.
