It had been awhile since I had stopped by this location for some bionicos fare and considering I was within walking distance, I felt it was time to get my fix.
Tacos de carne asada.
Some of the specials they were featuring during lent.
I don't know about you, but I love atole. I know, it's textural thing for most people, but I don't mind it at all.
The hot walnut atole caught my eye but the weather was warm so I bought a refreshing horchata instead. I'd pass on the rice drink next time. It didn't taste homemade, so I kinda question the atole now.
Taco trio.
The tacos we ordered were decent but definitely not a highlight at this bionicos place. The meat was good but they came dressed with way too much cilantro. Also, they were sent out with lemon. I don't mind lemon, but most people would prefer softer, gentler acidity in the form of lime. The salsas they offer are pretty good though. One is a chile de arbol salsa, the other is a tomatillo one and the last is a creamy avocado sauce similar to what they offer at Pollo Loco.
Costa Brava with Aguachila - Doritos, jaiva, shrimp, avocado, pickled red onion, tomato and citrus.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat, so I went with something familiar. It was par for the course, but nothing else - just a large snack to hold you over for a few more hours before you have a meal.
Don't know what to order, just look all around you.
Most menu items have accompanying pictures. For me, the whole thing is overwhelming. I hate large menus - probably why I stay away from Cheesecake Factory.
