Hey hey hey! |
Disappointed that we had arrived late to Taco Madness, we needed some comfort food to keep our morale up. Escondite to the rescue!
But first, we had to drown our sorrows a tiny bit.
I went with an ole standby - Bruery's Trade WInds Tripel.
These were the options on tap this day.
Vitus.
Yessie doesn't like hoppy beer or "coffee beer" too much, yet he also doesn't like light stuff either. Being a middle-of-the-road kinda guy, I suggested he try the Weizenbock. He seemed pleased.
Fat Albert.
Normally, as per my unwritten rule, we don't order the same thing. But today was an exception. We needed our spirits lifted after missing out on the taco festivities. Yessie insisted on getting the same burger I had my eye on for quite some time now and the last time we came across a donut-bunned burger, I had dibs on it so it was his turn to try one. And for me, well, after having a similar burger at Oh My Burger in Gardena, I had to try another one.
In the end, Fat Albert, as it's called here, was decent but not even close to the masterpiece I had in Gardena.
The burger to get here is still the Captain Kangaroo.
Some of their daily specials.
